About the Instructor

Marie is a native of Liguria, Italy, and a fluent speaker of the Genovese dialect. After a decade-long project in Italy, she was required to converse using formal Italian. Marie started a nascent online platform for teaching students interested in improving their Italian. Classes are on Monday and Wednesday from 6 - 7 PST. For the Monday class students read fun, informative Italian short stories with intriguing plot twists; and materials and then translate into English.

For the Wednesday class Marie develops topics of interest to students such as Italian geography, wine tasting, cheeses and dishes of the 20 regions, best region for olive oil, Festas, and much more. Teaching has been a constant in her career and these classes provide another opportunity to share with others her love and passion for the Italian language. She has several hundred followers from multiple regions, including Japan. These classes are free to all, just sign up through Meetup.com.
